Self-examination and what to look for
You do not need to conduct regular self-examination (every month) and systematic (every centimeter of surface). In fact, most experts would recommend. Why? Because this practice creates anxiety and does not reduce the risk of mortality from breast cancer. However, you should be alert to signs: any lumps or thickening inside the breast or near the armpit, inflammation, warmth or redness, a change in the size or shape of the breast the appearance of wrinkles or dimples on the skin irritating sore or rash on the nipple, nipple discharge a sudden, or unusual pain persists.
